An allocation of funds was made towards Sockets and POPs in the Era Budget. For this reason we are creating this page here to describe more about the ambitions for Sockets and POPs and to help the community/DAO to track our progress.
Firstly, Sockets and POPs (along with RPGs) have been incubated by PNF from our own funds. The history of these grant mechanisms was originally set out in the Grow Progam:
The Era Allocation is a mechanism to support community contributions. Sockets and POPs are the primary way we expect the community to get funded from the Era Allocation.
Deliverable | Description | Driver | Timeline | Kanban |
---|---|---|---|---|
Sprint 1 - Launch Sockets and POPs | This sprint pulls together everything needed to launch eras and activate funding mechanisms | PNF | 2 weeks | Doing |
Sprint 2 - Activate Sockets & POPs | This sprint is about pushing contributors to activate the mechanisms and start experimenting | PNF | July | To do |
Sprint 3 - Driving Sockets and POPs | This sprint is about driving operational discipline in contributions to maximise impact | PNF | August | To do |
Sprint 4 - Iterating Sockets and POPs | This sprint is about taking stock of contributions and completing a retrospective to improve for next cycle | PNF | August | To do |
Stakeholder | Role and Responsibilities |
---|---|
PNF | Steward Era funds towards the right type of contributions through Sockets and POPs. Provide direction and guidance and support contributors as neeeded |
Contributors | Leverage the Socket and POP mechanisms to support the 5 Ambitions. Contributors should bias to action and activate with the help of PNF. |
As part of the Metrics program we are tracking a number of indicators for how community contibutions support our ambitions. We will link this here as soon as it goes live.
The Era budget allocated 108K towards Sockets and POPs. This is supplemented by the Era Allocation which is the equivalent of ~$49K over the next two months.
We will provide a full accounting of all Sockets and POPs directly in the forum. We will also provide here a list of POPs and desired Socket’s to help create more of a “marketplace” for contributions.
